Giant African Snails becoming a threat in Kerala.

Giant African Snails are invading agricultural land in many locations of Kerala.This is going to be a very serious problem. It attacks around 500 plant species, including fruit bearing tees and vegetables. This is attacking Coconut trees,rubber and coffee too.

This snail is a native of East Africa. This is a land snail named as Achatina Fulica.This multiplies in rainy season.

It can be destroyed using common salt or Copper sulphate (Thurisu).It is not known how it is arrived Kerala.
